Dad’s Crockpot Ham & Bean Soup-Finally Got It Right!!!!

Ingredients
- 2 smoked ham hocks
- 2 cups cubed ham
- 3 lg. carrots, shredded
- 3 lg. celery stocks, diced
- 1 lg. Vidalia onion, diced
- 2 tsp. Frank’s hot sauce
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. black pepper
- ½ tsp. celery salt
- ½ tsp. mustard powder
- 4 ea. 14.5 oz cans chicken broth
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 ea. 15.5 oz can of great northern beans
- 1 lb. dry great northern beans, sorted and washed
Instructions
- Place ham hocks in the bottom of the slow cooker along with the dry great northern beans.
- Place carrots, celery, onions, and cubed ham on top of ham hocks and beans.
- Pour in 3 ea. 14.5 oz. cans of chicken stock.
- Add Frank’s hot sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, celery salt, mustard powder, and salt.
- Cook on high for 6-8 hrs. until the beans are soft.
- Take ham hocks out of the pot, remove all ham, and place ham back in the pot.
- In a blender, pour in 3 ea 15.5 oz. can of great northern beans (rinsed) along with 1 ea. can of water and 1ea. can of chicken broth. Place in a blender and pulse until all beans are completely blended. Pour blended bean and water mixture into the crock pot and allow mixture to reheat.
