Dad’s Pizza Sauce
Notes
To enhance the taste of your homemade pizza. blend the cheese topping 50% mozarella & 50% provolone with a light sprinkle of Peccorino Romano on the top.
Ingredients
- 1 ea. 28 oz. can of whole peeled tomatoes (preferably Sam Marzano)
- 1 ea. 6 oz. can of tomato paste
- 1 1/2 ea. tbsp. sugar
- 2 ea. tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. baking soda
Instructions
- In a medium sized bowl, thoroughly crush by hand the whole peeled tomatoes.
- Add all remaining ingredients and blend thoroughly.
- Add to a pot and simmer on low for 30 minutes.
