Dad’s Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Ingredients
- 2 ea. lbs. lean ground beef
- 2 ea. tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 ea. (1 oz.) packet dry au jus mix
- 1 ea. ¼ cup of milk
- 1 ea. cup all purpose flour
- ¾ ea. cup of water
- 1 ea. 8 oz. pkg. of sliced mushrooms
- 3 ea. tbsp. melted butter
- 1 ea. can of French fried onions
- ½ ea. cup of Italian seasoned bread crumbs
- 1 ea. (1 oz.) envelope (Lipton) dry onion mix
- 1 ea. 10.75 oz. can of condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 ea. 10.75 oz. can of condensed cream of mushroom soup
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion soup mix, bread crumbs, and milk.
- Shape into 8 ea. patties.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Dredge the patties in flour.
- Place patties in a skillet and brown on both sides.
- Remove patties from the skillet and stack in slow cooker pyramid style.
- In a separate bowl, mix together cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, au jus, water and melted butter.
- Cover patties with sliced mushrooms and pour the contents of soup mixture over patties.
- Cook on low setting for 5 hours.
- Remove patties from the slow cooker and cover with slow cooker gravy and your desired amount of French fried onions.
